THE IDEA The school year loomed in which we all turn 30. We were looking at the Year 11 leaving photo posted on Facebook, wondering whatever happened to everyone. So we thought we would go and find out. And so the challenge was set: in one year between September 08 and August 09, we would try to find everyone from the Class of '95, meet them all and invite them to a reunion at the end of the school year. This is how it's going!... THE BLOG - updated 27th Jan 25 Jan 08: After such a successful evening the night before, it was back on the road to track down some slightly more elusive old friends. An apology is in order for waking up Stuart Armour on a Sunday morning, then it was off to visit David Crewe, thanks to a little help from finding his sister. Tipped off from the previous night, we were able to locate Craig Carter, who then directed us across the road in the direction of both Emma Lyness and Stefan Paradissis. A little more info led us closer to one or two other names, but time ran out until the next adventure! 24 Jan 08: Back for another night at the Crown and our biggest turn-out so far thanks to a mixture of everyone spreading the word, our new expanding facebook group and a bit of pure luck! Jane Willetts, back in the UK for a fortnight, was the first new face, followed by Leon Westwood and Emma Davidson. Sixteen in total from the Class of '95 turned up, including Spencer Smith and Lee Wiltshire who wandered in totally unaware of the mini-reunion! 28 Dec 08: A fantastic night out at the Rose & Crown brought us newly reacquainted with Jodie Rutter, Becky Bowen and Brett Billingham. We also had snaps with Paul Nash and Sarah Cocks who had previously eluded our camera. And joining us round the table for an evening of more great laughs were Adam Mulvey, Chris Aldridge, Wayne Harris & Debbie Clee. 14 Dec 08: After a few weeks break, we were back on the trail, starting the day with a delightful surprise visit to catch up with Debbie Clee. Then it was one wild goose chase after another, until we dropped in on Dave Shaw and eventually finished the day on a high note by finding a good old friend in Amjed Bashir. 1 Nov 08: Six more old friends added to the list starting with a surprise visit to Richard Cole, involving good coffee, a great chat and some pretty easy babysitting duties. Caught up with Jenny Jones back in our favourite pub, the Rose and Crown. Then onto pub number two for a cool mini-reunion with Lisa Blakeway, Helen Nevin, Sandie Hooper, Simon Ramsbottom and Chris Aldridge. Big reunion plans discussed and a few old photos helped to bring back even more memories!
11 Oct 08: After a few dead-ends we interrupted Matthew
Griffiths at work and then headed back to the Rose & Crown, our new
meeting point, for another mini-reunion. One by one,
in walked Wayne Harris with Mulvey, Dan Hickman, Duncan Buchanan and
Lisa Butler. Almost all names on the photo accounted for and another
cracking laugh over some more schoolday escapades! |
